89657-17010 seems to be the later model. I am certain it works but by the looks of the reservoir its meant to be mounted vertically. If you can find a mounting spot for it (They are larger than you think) it shouldn't be any problems. Going by Ebay images, 80960-17011 (toyotapartszone says replaced by 44310-17011) seems to be the the one made for horizontal mounts.A thing to note is that the early pump (1990-1996) does not have a fluid reservoir bolted to the pump as the late style pump and the Opel pumps have. This is nice if you want to mount the pump below the car and have the fluid easily accessible in the car. Peugeot 307 have a power steering pump that is horizontaly mounted but has a reservoir mounted on the pump. The size looks like its roughly the same as the MR2 pump without the reservoir.
